Willie Revillame and Liz Almoro marriage - ANNULED!

That was the ground on which the marriage of Wilfredo “Willie” Revillame and Floralice “Liz” Almoro was declared null and void in a decision released last Tuesday, Feb. 5, by presiding judge Elsa de Guzman of the Regional Trial Court Branch 89 of Quezon City.
The annulment was reported as a “scoop” by The STAR yesterday.
Willie and Liz were married in civil rites in Lipa City on March 9, 2005, presided by then Lipa City Mayor (and now Batangas Governor) Vilma Santos; and then in church, at the Santuario de San Antonio Parish, Forbes Park, Makati City, on June 7, 2005. They have a two-year-old son, Juan Emmanuel (Juamee for short).
According to court records obtained by The STAR, the marriage “is declared null and void on the ground of psychological incapacity of both parties under Article 36 of the Family Code. Henceforth, their property relation is dissolved, it appearing that they have reached an agreement on the same pending trial.”
With the annulment, “both parties are restored to their single or unmarried status and petitioner’s prayer to revert and use her maiden name, Floralice Almoro, is granted.”
The custody of Juamee remains with Liz, “with visitorial rights” from Willie who has been ordered by the court to give the boy a monthly sum of P150,000 as monthly support.
The court also granted Willie’s motion to withdraw the information Liz filed against him “for Violation of Section 5 of the Republic Act. No. 9262 in Criminal Case No. Q-07-147887” (Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004), likewise in the same Quezon City court, declaring as “pure hearsay” the allegations of Liz’s witnesses about Willie’s “infidelity” and “womanizing.”
The court also didn’t give credence to the claim of Liz “that she felt emotionally and psychologically abused when (Willie) denied her physical intimacy,” which usually triggered their fights. The court noted that Willie’s loss of sexual appetite “was due to his exhaustion from work…” and not to any extra-marital activity.
“The mess between the parties,” the court further noted, “was the product of their want of strength of character to meet the consequences of marriage which consistently resulted to the disappointment of each other, resulting to their consistent arguments and quarrels.”
Willie begged off from making further comment when contacted by The STAR.
All he said was, “In court, I never said anything that would ruin my wife’s reputation. I continue to respect her. She’s my son’s mother.”
