20th Awit Awards - WINNERS!
The winners in the major categories of the 20th Awit Awards were finally revealed during the grand awards night held August 8, 2007 at The NBC Tent, The Fort in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. The unforgettable night of music and tributes was topbilled by the biggest Filipino musicians headed by rock icons Pepe Smith and Wally Gonzalez of the legendary Juan de la Cruz band. The JDLC band was conferred the “Dangal ng Musikang Pilipino Award” by the Philippine Association of Record Industries (PARI). A Posthumous Award was also given to Yoyoy Villame, “The King of Philippine Novelty Songs,” for his invaluable contribution to the local music industry.
Leading the list winners is Kamikazee who won Album of the Year (”Maharot”), Song of the Year (”Narda”), Best Rock (”Narda”), Best Perfomance by a Group Artist (”Narda”), and Music Video of the Year (”Martyr Nyebera”).
